Bubbles will abound over the next week but there's much more to enjoy than pouring straight in a glass or simply adding OJ. Here are 5 champagne cocktail recipes to power up any brunch and chase that hangover away (or delay it). These great concoctions will be a crowd pleaser whether enjoying close to noon or midnight.
This recipe gives your Paloma a punch with an addition of bubbles. The citrus and tequila make it a bright flavor choice and can be made in a pitcher to serve multiple people.
- 1 bottle of sparkling wine
- 1 cup silver tequila
- 1/2 cup orange liquor
- 1/2 fresh grapefruit juice
- Grapefruit wedges
- 1 tablespoon coarse salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
1) Combine sparkling, tequila, orange liquor, and grapefruit juice in a large pitcher. Stir gently
2) Combine sugar and coarse salt in shallow dish. Run grapefruit wedge around the champagne flute rim and dip each rim in the dish.
3) Divide mixture into flutes and garnish with citrus.
This recipe creates a double-take cocktail with its deep violet color and nice floral fruity taste.
- 1 oz. Violette liquor
- 4 dashes cherry bitters
- Lemon twist
- Dry brut sparkling
Pour liquor into chilled flute, add lemon zest, fill with champagne, and top with bitters.
Ginger Apple Fizz
The flavors in this recipe are on the dry side infused with holiday spice.
- 1 oz. ginger liquor
- 1 ½ oz. hard apple cider
- 1 or 2 star anise
Pour ginger liquor and apple cider into a chilled glass. Top with sparkling and garnish with star anise.
No Mistake Negroni
The flavors in this classic cocktail are simple yet complex and can be served up or on a rock.
- 1 oz. Campari
- 1 oz. Cocchi Americano
- 1 oz. sparkling
Pour equal parts into a glass with a single cube. Garnish with orange peel.
Nothing holy here but this recipe does some good by offering antioxidants from the pomegranate - a welcome friend when indulging.
- 1/2 teaspoon pomegranate seeds
- 1 oz. St. Germaine
- Top with sparkling
Pour St Germaine into a flute, top with champagne, garnish with pomegranate.
